POSITION SUMMARY:

The Administrative Assistant will assist the Assistant Principal in maintaining reliable and accurate data and files for high student achievement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years clerical, office, or related experience
- Experience with various Office software such as Word and Excel
- Ability to learn software applications quickly and efficiently
- Effective organizational skills
- Proficiency in record keeping and attention to detail
- Ability to work with staff, teachers, students and parents at various educational levels
- Ability to travel between school sites within the District
- Experience with SAIS process preferred
- Proficient communicator with excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of district staff and with a diverse community
- Ability to work independently
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with and maintain open communication with the Assistant Principal to provide reliable and accurate data and files for students in accordance with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations.
- Composes correspondence, bulletins, memorandums, and other material.
- Works with Registrar to enter new and returning students into Power School and to State reporting system.
- Prepare and submit public notification.
- Works with attendance clerk to monitor daily drop lists.
- Provide monthly student counts to Site Principal.
- Assist in gathering State end of the year data collection information.
- Answers telephone to provide information, take message, or transfer calls.
- Assist with ordering supplies for school.
- Maintain calendar of meetings for the Site Principal.
- Perform general clerical duties as requested.
- Exhibits patience, courtesy, and tact when dealing with others.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of department concerns and dispenses authorized information.
- Prepares a compilation of information for reports. Types reports, memorandums, and a variety of correspondence. Types general communications without supervision.
- Organized, self- starter who prioritizes work and is dependable.
